Teacher dressed as witch

Recently, Clearfield High School students were magically transported to Hogwarts Academy for a one-of-a-kind math competition.

Under the spell of math teacher Kara Oliverson, the classroom transformed into the wizarding world of Harry Potter. A sorting ceremony decided which house the young wizards and witches were assigned. Potions, spells and puzzles were conjured to help curious students enjoy trigonometry.

This creative event is part of the nationwide #RockYourSchool movement, inspiring teachers to make learning an adventure.

"It’s fun, there’s a challenge, and there’s Harry Potter stuff everywhere,” tenth grader Ashoin said. “I even have a wand. More teachers should do this—it makes math so much more fun.”

Oliverson and her teacher aides worked hard to inspire the students from the moment they walked into Hogwarts Academy, breaking the mold of a traditional math class and making learning a fun experience.
